2011 Season - Week 10

Touchdown Bowden

The biggest touchdown of the year occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning as Ele gave birth to Lewis David Bowden. A huge congratulations to all involved. Mark texted HQ to say “Well get him on the waiting list for the BUMS ASAP”. Mark is a proud father who has very high hopes for his first born. He hopes Lewis will become the youngest ever BUMS winner. Which means Lewis has to be champion by the end of the 2021 season as Marcus was just 11 years and one month when he won the Papas Fritas trophy back in 2001. AP leaves it late, Chief back in In week 9 AP entered the Scoring Hall of Fame on the very last play of the Monday Night game when Vick’s pass fell incomplete and AP’s coach Lovie Smith got the win 30-24. That moved AP onto 54 points and saw him enter the hallowed Hall for the eighth time and the first time in over six years. AP has the two highest weekly totals 70 & 68 points which he set in weeks 16 & 15 of 2003 respectively. This week Chief entered the hall for the third time this year and ninth time overall, tieing Mark for third most visits, one behind Johnnie & two behind Wayne who has the most visits. Belated Big Up To Tony In week 2 Tony Gonzalez caught 7 passes and passed Terrell Owens for fifth on the NFL Career Reception list. He past Tim Brown in week 5 and in week 7 had 5 catches to move ahead of Cris Carter (1,101) and Marvin Harrison (1,102) into second all-time. He is unlikely to become the all-time leader as he is still 445 catches behind Jerry Rice! But the big Tight End as done pretty darn well for a college basketball player. Big Ups Tony. Injuries Having lost his first franchise player for all of the season so far, Aaron cut Peyton Manning and his $3m salary on Trading Day 1. Now he has a huge dilemma as his $2m first year franchise Running Back Knowshon Moreno has been put on IR by the Broncos. If Aaron cuts him he will operate with an $8m budget next year. He has lost a whopping 50% of his budget to Franchise injuries this year as he battles to stay up. Meantime Craig will be looking forward to Trading Day 2 (on Dec. 4th) as he looks to maintain his Championship Challenge as Matt Schaub has a severe foot injury and could miss the rest of the season. BUMS on Seats It’s the Jets @ Broncos on the Thursday Night Game but we are missing it and will be at HQ on Sunday to see another key AFC North battle as Cincinnati (6-3) travel to Baltimore (6-3) followed by Tennessee (5-4) @ Atlanta (5-4). We will be at H’s from 6:30pm on Monday to see the Eagles (3-6) at Giants (6-3) and on Tuesday at Johnnie’s to see Kansas City (4-5) @ New England (6-3). Let us know if you’re coming. The following Thursday (Nov 24) is Thanksgiving Day and Cheryl will be doing a feast as we watch Green Bay @ Detroit followed by Miami @ Dallas. Please let her know if you are coming. Lots to cook that day.
